About me

Who am I?

I am a person with a passion for the development of the society and a genuine interest in the local village. All my life I have been very active in many fields, such as developing the local village, rural and regional development. I have also been whole-heartedly engaged in issues concerning the Swedish-speaking minority in Finland, education, culture and lifelong learning as a whole.

A very important part of the job I am doing is international cooperation. When Finland became a member of the European Union I also launched out into the international arena, I am both active in international projects and as a commission of trust. I have now more than 10 years of experience from the international fields through many kinds of EU projects as a project manager and through my commission of trust via The Regional Council of Ostrobothnia in the organization AEBR, The Association of European Border regions. I have been a member of AEBR board since 1999 and I have been the Vice President since 2001.

I am a commission of trust in the municipality of Korsnäs, my home municipality, since 20 years, an assignment that I like very much. I have also been actively engaged at the regional level for more than 10 years, mainly in the Regional Council of Ostrobothnia. Furthermore, throughout the years I have been efficiently involved in serveral organizations and Non Govermental Organizations.

I am a mother of two children, Jasmine (born 1994) and Benjamin (born 1996), I have four cats, I am living in a yellow house in the countryside  and I am engaged to Ari Berg.
